MBK Unites to Provide Aid for Chiang Rai Flood Victims

Since the beginning of September, northern Thailand, particularly Chiang Rai, has experienced a severe flash flood crisis. The depression covering the northern region has caused heavy downpours, and the aggressive flow of water has damaged lives and property across many areas. As locals struggle to endure the ongoing water mass, the crisis has inspired collaboration from all sectors, including government, private organisations, and social communities, to tackle the challenges and overcome the disaster.  
MBK Public Company Limited, led by Wichak Praditavanij, Director and Member of the Executive Committee, stated, “MBK is among many organisations joining forces with all businesses in the group to raise support for flood victims in Chiang Rai. The group’s donation includes over 4.2 tonnes of Mah Boonkrong rice alongside over 1,000 packs of MBK drinking water, delivered through government frontlines and media-supported projects. The initiative includes MBK Care volunteers set to donate drinking water and survival relief bags in collaboration with the Directorate of Civil Affairs, the Royal Thai Navy, the Ministry of Commerce, Chulalongkorn University’s flood relief projects, TV5 HD’s crisis support, Channel 7’s efforts to help locals, The Nation’s kindness-sharing initiative for flood relief, Mono 29’s ‘Compassion Creates Smiles to Fight the Flood’, the Flood Victims Donation Centre by MCOT, and the Tham Dee Organisation Foundation.”   “MBK is offering support to the victims affected by the crisis, alongside staff and volunteers from all sectors who are contributing their time and energy to carry out the mission to overcome the disaster together. We are committed to alleviating the burdens on the victims by adhering to the MBK Care concept, which focuses on the environment, society, and community, alongside good governance in business operations,” Wichak concluded.
